Kyoto City's accommodation tax will change from Sunday, March 1, 2026.
This will be effective for stays from Sunday, March 2026, 3, regardless of the date of accommodation contract or payment of accommodation fees, etc.

Before revision [until Saturday, February 2026, 2]
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) Less than 1 yen: 1 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more and less than 1 yen: 6,000 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more and less than 1 yen: 20,000 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more and less than 1 yen: 50,000 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more: 1 yen

After revision [From Sunday, March 2026, 3]
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) Less than 1 yen: 1 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more and less than 1 yen: 6,000 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more and less than 1 yen: 20,000 yen
　Accommodation fee (per person per night) 1 yen or more and less than 1 yen: 50,000 yen

Rates for accommodation only, service charges for accommodation only, cleaning fee (mandatory fee)

What is not included in the accommodation fee
Amount equivalent to consumption tax, etc. (general taxes such as consumption tax, local consumption tax, hot springs tax, etc.)
Fees equivalent to services other than accommodation (fees for meals, use of conference rooms, telephone use, etc.)
